Yuugi Yuugi has a very polite pattern of speech, and often uses suffixes, even when it comes to his friends. He does NOT shorten their names into cute little nicknames like "Jou-kun" or whatever. I know "Jounouchi" can be a handful to type, but it's worth it if you want to write the Japanese version. It's a pretty safe bet that he'll err on the side of politeness, and use "kun" after people's names. He does NOT call his other half "Yami". Here is a list of the suffixes he uses on the other main characters: Yami -- mou hitori no boku (literally "the other me") Anzu -- Anzu Jounouchi -- Jounouchi-kun Honda -- Honda-kun Bakura -- Bakura-kun Kaiba -- Kaiba-kun
