Bran kicked Will lightly in the back of the leg. Will nodded vigorously. "Right! Sorry! I--I don't know what made me say that....Umm...." "Let's just go..." Bran said, shaking his head.

Anna knew that Will didn't mean what he'd just said, but it didn't matter. Ryou had to be alive. At least...that's what Anna told herself. With a nod, Anna agreed and started for the door.

"Where to start looking, though...?" Will asked as he rushed about aimlessly. Bran thought for a moment. "Well, why not try and find a place that seems to have more going on there? I've noticed that those damned foxes show up more in certain places... Maybe there'd be more the closer we get to it?" he said. Though "it" meant where the Darkness was strongest, not specifically where Ryou was....To tell the truth, neither of the two, especially Will, were all too interested on playing 'search and resque'. At least, not when more was at stake than just one boy...

Anna followed the other two, listening to their conversation just in case. She really had nothing to add to it, so she said nothing.

After a while of searching around town, Will stopped, and showed something to Bran. After seeing it too, Bran turned to Anna. "Here. Look at that dog--the one that isn't by anybody. Does anything look odd about it?" he asked, pointing to the animal in question.

Anna looked at the dog that Bran was pointing at and thought for a second. "Something does seem odd about it...I just can't tell what it is that's strange."

Bran thought for a moment, then before he could speak again, the dog walked nearer to a small crowd of people. Almost instantly, fighting, and random arguements could be heard. "How about now? Notice anything now?" he asked again.

Nodding, Anna said, "That's...creepy. So they cause chaos wherever they go?"

"They always seem to..." Bran said with a small growl. Will shook his head. "I'll see if I can demonstrate another problem with them. He whistled in a low tone. The milgwyn turned its head to the group very slowly. An evil, demented, toothy grin spread across its maw when it laid eyes on the three. As it had turned its head, its appearance had changed. By the time it looked at them, it was a black fox. It began to walk off, paws seeming as if they weren't even there, as they did not move at the same speed the animal actually went. There was a streetlight-- hardly a thing that was very wide-- but the thing could not be seen after walking past it. It was as if it vanished little by little as it walked past the thing... Not a single person noticed...

Anna blinked several times, a bewildered expression on her face, still looking at the streetlight where the fox had disappeared. "That was...scary..."

Bran seemed to stare off into space, and he was silent. A look of anger was plain on his features--well from what could be seen. The glasses still covered his eyes. Will sighed. "Yes, those stupid things are almost impossible to find or notice if you don't know what to look for. Most people can't have even seen the dog. Actually, I'm sort of surprized you could..." he said.

Looking at Will in almost disbelief, Anna said, "You mean, most people couldn't see that? But it was in plain sight!"

"It's true. The damned things can decide when people can see them, and when they can't. That is, it can choose which of the normal people can't see it....Once you've seen one, or had to deal with one when you know what it is....It's almost impossible not to notice them...." Bran said in a dry tone. Will glanced around. "Yes, well....In any case we should keep looking..." he said. Bran merely nodded.

"Right," she responded. She wasn't entirely sure what to look for. The foxes? Eh, might as well.

By now the sun was almost completely gone. Bran was having a bit of a hard time finding his way around, what with the glasses and all. He'd actually run into a few things already.... Will was getting a bit frustrated. They'd seen plenty of the foxes, but not anything that could be followed like a trail.... They just seemed to be randomly everywhere...
